During our trip to Bacolod, we visited the Bacolod Cathedral in Bacolod, Negros Occidental. While taking the typical photos of the Cathedral’s facade, I saw this kid sitting at the display of the old church bells. Maybe he we was sleeping, contemplating, or something else, I couldn’t really tell.

Mambukal Mountain Resort: Out of the City and Back to Nature
It sucks when you get sick on the road. Especially if it involves you having to sit on a toilet bowl most of the time. Well, it wasn’t exactly diarrhea but I felt as if I was food poisoned en route to Bacolod from Iloilo. I probably had too much chicken inasal. I tried to sleep it off on our first day in Bacolod and hoped I’d feel better the next morning.
I felt the same, however. I still felt weak. I still felt at home at having my bum rest on the cold toilet bowl. I still wanted to throw up.
So you could imagine how excited I was to go to the Mambukal Resort. I looked forward to it like a kid looking forward to his trip to the dentist. But hey, I was on a vacation so I might as well make every minute count.
Destination: the Mambukal Mountain Resort. I didn’t know what to expect before going there save for the waterfalls, but I wasn’t in the mood for caring about anything at the time except for my tummy.

You can’t? Okay, let me tell you a story instead.

Bacolod City Chronicles
After our trip to Iloilo, we then headed to Bacolod City. While this is already my second time to set my foot on Negros Island (check out this related post on the 4 things I wish I knew before going to Dumaguete), the trip to Bacolod was my first time to visit the region of Negros Occidental.
Check out this blog in the coming days as I chronicle my trip to Bacolod. I’ll also be posting the links here as I go.

How to Go to the Jaro Cathedral
While you can always ask Iloilo’s friendly locals for directions, it still pays to do your research beforehand before going there. So if you want to go and visit the Jaro Cathedral, then here’s the post that you should read.
But first, let’s get schooled.
