If you shoot all day and all the time, it’s tempting to have just one memory card to dump all your photos there and forget about it. Even I was tempted to get a humongous 16GB SDHC card for my Canon 450D.
Why?
Because having a card with a huge capacity is convenient. You don’t have to change cards often, especially if you’re shooting JPEGs.
In photography, you will eventually realize that there are things that are beyond your control, especially light. In the studio, you can manipulate light to your liking, but the story’s different outside. Take for example sunsets. You can never force the sun to set at 5pm just because you have a meeting to go to at 6pm.
And that’s what I dealt with one lazy afternoon at Tiendesitas, that is, waiting for the right light.
I had to wait for an hour or so just to get the right light passing through the opening in between roofs and get the shot I wanted. I don’t like waiting, but waiting did pay off to turn a bland shot like this:
