Gala Pinoy Redux

I couldn’t remember exactly what I was doing in Greenhills at the time. All I remember was when I went out of the mall, I saw these ladies (probably nurses) having their break. There was nothing particularly interesting about them, that is until they all lined up with their backs on the wall, took their cellphones out and started texting, as if somebody told them to do just that. I also took out my cellphone, not to text, but to take the shot above.

Sometimes, all it takes for you to get a good photograph is to use a less technical camera and pray for the best. I shot this photo from the hip last August at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2. I looked at the photo afterwards and was pretty pleased by the result. What camera did I use? My Android cellphone.

Okay, here’s an interesting photo taken by John Nacion during this year’s Pride March in New York. And according to John, it was a landmark parade, “following the legalization of same-sex marriage in the big apple. It was also my son’s first to see it, he just turned 8.”

But what’s even more interesting is the message she’s carrying. Do you agree with her or not? :D

During the Borongan fiesta, bazaars along Baybay Boulevard sell clothes, kitchen ware, tools, and toys, just to name a few. And one of the most popular toys sold in these bazaars are pellet guns.

I met this kid walking with some of his friends while brandishing his pellet gun on his right hand and a wound from a recent skirmish on his left temple.

This photo is taken from the same roll where I took last week’s photo of the UP Sunken Garden. I couldn’t remember the back story here since I neither have the date nor the time of the day I shot this photo. But suffice it to say that I was feeling a little nostalgic about UP at the time. Which is a funny thing to say especially when I didn’t really miss my school in the first few years since I graduated there. And there I was years later, carrying a camera loaded with 36 shots of film, trying to capture whatever it was in my head. I snapped this photo with a running girl, a wheel, and a symbol of a bicycle all in the frame. And I thought, maybe at the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter how we get to where we’re going so long as we keep on moving forward.
