Dumaguete Cathedral – Touch Down Dumaguete

Dumaguete Cathedral

Finally arrived at Dumaguete City today. Was unable to really check out the city yet since I had work to finish. But I at least had the chance to take a photo of the Dumaguete Cathedral. It was quite a tiring walk from where I’m currently staying, but it’s always great to check out new places by foot. Now time to brush up on my lousy Bisaya skills. :D

Will update you folks and I hope you have a great weekend!

Oh My Gulay! What a Surprise in Baguio!

From the BenCab museum, we took a break before finally proceeding to Oh My Gulay restaurant that evening.

Located in Session Road at the topmost floor of La Azotea Building, it is a vegetarian restaurant owned by Filipino artist Kidlat Tahimik. He wasn’t there when we visited, but the surroundings easily made it obvious that it was owned by an artist.

Oh My Gulay’s location gives you a good view of the Baguio skyline–yes, even SM Baguio’s in view.

It was already around 7:30 when we got there. We were quite lucky because we didn’t know that the restaurant closed at 8:30 (Oh My Gulay is open from 11am-8:30pm). Good thing we still managed to order food especially since we were already starving at the time.

Project 365 – Days 235-248

Posted by Cedric A. Solidon On September - 8 - 2010

The past two weeks were a mish mash of activities. First, I finally availed of the free accommodation I got from Astoria Boracay. The place is great–great enough for you to forget the busy beaches outside. From there, I returned to the regular grind of work, so I also took the time to share some of the books that continue to help me write and work as a freelancer. Then finally, I returned to sketching again. Not that I’m good at it, just that I like doing it. :D So here’s how the past two weeks went.

BenCab Museum – More Than Just Great Artworks

First, another excuse (remember the first one?). I got neck-deep in work during the latter part of the week last week after relaxing at Astoria Boracay (we’ll get to that in the future).

Now we return to regular programming.

After our quick trip to the Mines View Park, Trish and I headed to the BenCab museum. Okay, we passed by SM Baguio first but there’s no story there so we fast forward.

The BenCab Museum is a museum owned by National Artist Ben Cabrera, better known as BenCab. Many of his works are displayed there, but there’s more to the museum that bears the artist’s name.
