Pantalan, Pt. 2

Posted by Cedric A. Solidon On April - 30 - 2010

As promised, here’s the second installment of the photos I took at the Borongan port, or the ‘pantalan’. A background on the photo at the bottom.

Pantalan Pt2

This photo’s of the fishing boat anchored at the side of the port, with the sunset behind it. I forgot to take off the circular polarizing filter from the lens, which slowed the shutter speed. I decided to keep the first photo anyway because of the effect of the moving boat had similar to impressionist paintings. But then again, that’s just me. I hope you like it. :)

Pantalan, Pt. 1

‘Pantalan’ is how the locals call the Borongan Port. The place is a great way to spend a lazy afternoon while waiting for the sun to set. At night, it’s also a favorite spot among lovers (not necessarily exclusively) because the place is without street lamps and thus provides an opportunity to go star gazing, or do otherwise private things in a public place, if you get my drift.

Above is one of the number of photos I took during a biking trip to the ‘pantalan’. No, I didn’t spend the evening with someone there. :D I will post one or a few more photos in the coming days, so watch out for them.

Project 365 – Days 109-115

Posted by Cedric A. Solidon On April - 27 - 2010

Spent my second week in Borongan, and it’s been a pretty humid week. It still is right now, but the good thing is that it rains more regularly than in Manila. Rains are always a welcome respite from all this heat. Anyway, I hope you enjoy these pictures. :)

Phantom Waters

A bit of camera shake, the right waves, and the kids coming into the frame all helped create this happy accident of a photo. Taken in Baybay, Borongan, Eastern Samar.

Working in Borongan is a joy. It’s not as hot and humid in Manila, the air is fresh, and there are plenty of opportunities to take photos. Let me share some of the things I’ve seen so far here.
